Biden spoke about the situation in Lebanon: I know the invasion plans

US President Joe Biden made several statements about the threat of escalation in the Middle East.

“I am aware of plans to invade Lebanon and I hope Israel stops it. I would feel comfortable if military operations between Israel and Hezbollah ceased. We need to achieve a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah now,” the American leader said.

Additionally, the Pentagon said that if necessary, the United States will send thousands of troops to the region to assist Israel.

Recently, Kursor reported that American media had received information about a possible large-scale Israeli operation. Israel has reportedly notified Washington of its plans to carry out a limited ground operation in Lebanon, which is expected to begin soon.

The operation will be smaller than the military action against Hezbollah in 2006 and will focus on destroying militant infrastructure along the border to reduce the threat it poses to Israeli border communities.

Additionally, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken noted that the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has made the world safer, describing him as a “brutal terrorist.” He stressed that Nasrallah’s absence will reduce the vulnerability of the region and the world to threats. However, Blinken added that diplomacy remains the only path to long-term stability in the Middle East and expressed his intention to continue efforts to secure a ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group in Gaza.
