Alejandro Vázquez will present this Monday to the Regional Council and the City Council of Ponferrada the plans to solve the deficit of professionals
The Ministry of Health of the Government of Castile and León accepted this Monday the resignation, at her own request, of the head of health care of Bierzo, Pilar Fernández Ampudia, after almost five years as head of health at the level of primary care and specialized care.
The resignation comes a few days after the residents of the region once again threatened to “take to the streets” and protest again against the situation in the oncology department of the Ponferrada hospital, which currently lacks specialist doctors. The Regional Council, headed by its president Olegario Ramón, proposed last Friday to lead this movement with the support of the municipalities of Bierzo and Laciana.
The councilor, Alejandro Vázquez, will hold meetings throughout the morning with the heads of all the oncology services of the Sacyl hospitals, as well as with the president of the Regional Council of Bierzo, Olegario Ramón Fernández, and with the mayor of Ponferrada, Marco Antonio Morala. , to present to the most representative institutions of the Bercian region the plans of the Regional Health Directorate to resolve as soon as possible the deficit of professionals in said specialty.
