The messenger “Telegram” has taken the first step towards becoming a video platform.
Oku.Az reports that Pavel Durov, the founder of this messenger, wrote about this on his “Telegram” channel.
According to the owner, until now Telegram shows videos in shared format in various chats and channels. Because of this, users had to wait for gigabytes of data to be downloaded to their phones and videos to fully load. At the same time, the founder of the Messenger emphasized that problems arose even when viewing short articles.
“With today’s update, Telegram servers will compress popular videos into various quality options and optimize them for streaming,” said P. Durov.
He clarified that thanks to this innovation, the messenger will automatically select the quality of a particular video. In this process, the speed of the Internet connection on each user’s device will play a key role.
