Posters calling for an end to arms supplies to Ukraine have appeared in several Italian cities, including Rome, Parma, Verona, Modena and Pisa.
As CNN reported in its report, the posters were paid for by the political union Sovranita Popolare. The inscription on one of the posters in Rome reads:
“Stop giving money for weapons to Ukraine and Israel. We want peace. We reject war”
A poster was also put up showing a handshake painted in the colours of the Russian and Italian flags with the slogan:
“Russia is not our enemy”
Representatives of Sovranita Popolare told reporters that most Italians are against providing military assistance to kyiv.
The report says that the Ukrainian embassy in Italy has already expressed concern about these incidents. Ukrainian diplomats have asked the authorities to change the procedure for issuing advertising permits in the country.
Previously EADaily reported that G7 leaders at a summit in Italy on June 13 reached an agreement to allocate $50 billion to Ukraine from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets until the end of 2024.
