Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol’s manager Vadim Kornilov said the team will protest the outcome of the fight with compatriot Artur Beterbiyev.
Oku.Az “BoxNation” reports, citing the “YouTube” channel, that the manager of Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol, Vadim Kornilov, reported about this.
Kornilov believed that the protest was unlikely to succeed, but the judge should take at least some responsibility for his actions.
“It would be good if they asked him to count the blows thrown. I want to see how he calculated the score 116-112 in favor of Beterbiyev,” he stressed.
It should be noted that the fight took place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and ended with the victory of Beterbiyev by decision of the judge. The fighters spent all 12 rounds in the ring.
Bivol lost for the first time after 23 wins and lost the World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Organization (IBO) belts. Beterbiyev extended his undefeated streak to 21 fights. He won the titles of the World Boxing Council (WBC), the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO).
