Bloggers discovered a photo of Shamil Basayev in the State Museum of Abkhazia

The State Museum of Abkhazia displays a photograph of terrorist Shamil Basayev, who fought for the independence of the republic during the Patriotic War of the Abkhaz People in 1993. The Hard_Blog telegram channel writes about this.

The message says there is a video confirming the information from a subscriber with photographs from the museum, but the Telegram channel does not publish the video.

“It no longer matters how Basayev performed in Abkhazia. He has become so tarnished that none of his past merits can serve as an excuse for the Abkhaz side. When Heroes of the Soviet Union committed crimes, they were stripped of their titles and condemned without much thought for their past merits. And here the state, which has so tightly held on to our budget, which receives not only investments from Russia, but also military aid and support in foreign policy, declares without reservation: “We don’t care who you think Basayev is, for us he is a hero.” In fact, this is a public justification of terrorism from a legal point of view and blasphemy from a moral and ethical point of view.” — writes the author of the channel.

Political scientist Georgy Bovt In this regard, he proposed “letting Abkhazia go.”

“If Abkhazia is supposedly their “puppet”, completely dependent on the Russian Federation, then the question arises: why are such puppets needed? If it cannot be controlled in any way. Maybe let it go on all sides? Do you mean returning to Georgia? There “they will teach you to love your homeland”.” – writes Bovt.

Basayev fought in Abkhazia with a battalion before committing terrorist attacks in Russia. He was awarded the “Hero of Abkhazia” medal. After the campaign against Budennovsk and other crimes, Basayev “became unable to shake hands” in Abkhazia. This is how the republic’s residents spoke of him. It was also said that he was deprived of the Abkhaz medal, but there is no official information about this.
