The historic center of Boadilla del Monte will be more accessible to its neighbors and visitors. The town hall of this Madrid municipality is already launching a call for tenders to remodel the neighborhood, in order to improve accessibility and urban mobility, optimize existing parking spaces and renew public space with new urban elements durable and sustainable.
Bidders have until November 12 to submit their offers. The renovation work on the historic center is expected to last 9 months and will temporarily affect access to certain areas, so the municipality will have to determine alternative routes for pedestrians and access to garages and shops.
The Virgen del Pilar Park, the streets of Eduardo Asenjo Carrasco, Mártires – where only the pedestrian crossings will be renovated in terms of accessibility regulations -, Pedro González, Camino de San Sebastián, Joaquín Ramos, Radio Peninsular, Juan Carlos I, as well as the Paseo de Madrid – where a single garden area and a single road lane will have intervened to generate the parking of the batteries – and the bullring esplanade are the areas that will soon be renovated.
The amount of this call for tenders amounts to 5,054,751.34 euros and is co-financed with the NextGen funds of the European Union, through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, as part of the second call of the Assistance Program for municipalities for the implementation of low-emission zones and the Digital and Sustainable Transformation of Urban Transport.
This is not the first time that Boadilla del Monte has carried out work to improve its facilities. This council has already acted in certain areas of the city, including Majadahonda Street, Caño Park and the surroundings of the Madrid promenade parking lot.
And it will not be the last either, since another tender is already planned to exploit the streets of Camino de San Sebastián, San Sebastián, Carmen, Santa Teresa, Buenavista, Convento, Calle del Álamo, Calle Nueva, Juan Garcia Serrano, Seville. , Juan Carlos I (between Radio Peninsular and Adolfo Suárez Avenue, and between this and Paseo Madrid), Adolfo Suárez Avenue (where the intervention will only be carried out on existing planters), Calle de la Vega , Barranco Amarillo, Ronda de San Babilés, Calvo Sotelo, García Noblejas, Enrique Calabia, Arco street and Fragua street. For this new phase, a budget of nearly six million euros will be allocated.
