EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has rejected Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz. We are talking about accusations of anti-Semitism against a representative of European politics.
Borrell was accused of anti-Semitism after attending a meeting to create the Palestinian Authority. Asked about Katz’s comments, Borrell said it was pointless to accuse those who disagree with the government’s position of anti-Semitism.
“Unfortunately, there have been examples throughout history of what it means to be anti-Semitic, and I don’t think we should play with big words that have had tragic implications in history,” Borrell added.
Katz criticized Borrell for attending the meeting, writing in X that “Borrell supports the creation of a Palestinian terrorist state controlled by Iran and an axis of evil against Israel, moderate Arab states and Europe.”
Katz’s criticism came after Borrell took part in negotiations to create a Palestinian state organised by Spain.
“In the same week that the US, Germany, France and the UK imposed sanctions on Iran’s air links following missile shipments threatening Europe, outgoing EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell is busy waging hate campaigns against Israel,” Katz wrote in the post on X’s website.
Katz has been repeatedly criticized by diplomats for his habit of trolling foreign states and leaders with “bizarre” and belligerent posts on social media.
Earlier, Cursor reported that Israeli Foreign Minister Katz had issued a harsh ultimatum, saying Israel would “break the Palestinian Authority” if it did not stop its aggression against Israel.
