Bosch has announced the layoff of seven thousand employees, but it turns out that this may not be the end. EADaily also reminds that this is not the only German company that plans to significantly reduce its workforce.
Stefan HartungChairman of the Board of Directors of Bosch, confirmed in an interview with the newspaper Tagesspiel that, taking into account the national economic problems, a further reduction in employment cannot be ruled out.
“At the moment, I cannot rule out that we will have to further adjust our staffing.” – said.
According to the Efahrer portal, this year has not brought Bosch the expected benefits. Instead of sales growth, they are expected to be lower at the end of the year than in 2023 (then around €92 billion).
But Stefan Hartung maintained his goal for 2026: profitability should increase from the current 4% to 7%. To achieve this, the company wants to invest in growth areas such as semiconductors, software and electric mobility.
According to Business Insider, other German companies are also planning layoffs. Among them is Miele, the home appliance company, which aims to cut around 1,300 employees by 2028. Software maker SAP has also announced layoffs: a restructuring that will see up to 10,000 people laid off here. Job cuts may also affect the Volkswagen automobile company.
