JAKARTA – The head of the implementation of Jakarta BPBD, ISNAWA ADI, said that the weather modification operation (OMC) was immediately carried out. This was transmitted after a meeting on the Internet with BNPB, BMKG, Brin and Indonesian Air Force.
“The OMC plan will be carried out by BNPB in the direction of the BNPB head, focuses on Bogor, Bekashi, Tanggerang and Jacart, starting with Bogor,” Icena told reporters on Monday (7/7/2025).
He explained that OMC, starting from the Bogor region, was an attempt to prevent rain in the region, and could reduce the increase in water discharge from the rising flow.
“Since Bogor, in addition to flooding him, as well as landslides, BMKG forecasts over the next three days in the rain intensity (will be high),” he said.
Meanwhile, in order for the OMC BPBD Jakarta, his batch is waiting for the BMKG report on the weather in Jakarta. The budget requirement for the OMC conducted by Jakarta BPBD was also informed by the governor of Jakarta Pramono Anunung.
“I announced the governor and deputy governor. BPBD, with an existing budget, will prepare OMC, while every day we and BMKG make observations with the weather. We are preparing the OMC process, ”he said.
