The BRICS Writers’ Forum opens in Kazan. Writers, poets and translators from China, India, Brazil, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and other countries will participate.
Russia will be represented at the forum by modern writers. Sergey Shargunov, Igor Volgin, Evgeniy Popov, Anastasia Strokinaforum curator Irina Barmetova.
The event will be a platform to discuss the role of literature in strengthening cultural ties among the BRICS countries and popularizing the literary traditions of these countries in the international arena.
According to the organizers, the forum will feature round tables, debates, master classes and presentations.
Among the participants is, for example, one of the leading popularizers of Russian literature in China, author of more than 20 monographs. The forum will last until September 13.
