Brilliant Toledo Cancer Association Awards Ceremony

The Toledo Cancer Association organized the awards ceremony at the San Marcos Cultural Center in Toledo, on the occasion of the “Activos contra el Cancer” gala, an event that focuses on the fight against this disease and the desire to live off of all those who have suffered it or to support a member of their family who suffers from it.

The main authorities of the province and region gathered at the San Marcos Auditorium in the capital to honor those who collaborate to make research the axis of the fight against cancer, those who help win the battle for the life. look at her face to face. All are grouped around an association which has served throughout one year to more than 600 users, offered 2,400 sessions and collected 228,000 euros for research and support for family members.

“All our services are completely free: no one is charged for anything,” emphasized the president, who referred to the services provided by the AECC in Toledo and Talavera de la Reina, as well as the roaming of a team that provides close support and proximity to patients. Likewise, he highlighted that the association will have for the first time a grant with its own funds to develop a project in Toledo, just as the five provinces of Castile-La Mancha will do with another of an autonomous nature, and will be eligible for AECC chairs. “We want to see more patients and that no one is deprived of the activities of the Association,” he said.

In this way the event had erecognition of winners: Royal Foundation of Toledo – with which the AECC maintains an agreement to give visibility to its services within the network of entities with which it collaborates; the Primatial Cathedral of Toledo –with which the AECC will celebrate one of its charitable events commemorating the VIII Centenary-; Official College of Pharmacists – with whom the First Smoking Prevention Day took place; Cecam – for its institutional declaration expressing its support and solidarity with the sick; Fedeto –for the agreement through which they promote the initiatives of the AECC among SMEs and associates-; Joma Sport – to raise awareness of the importance of sport and physical exercise; the Infantry Academy – faithful support of the AECC with which new lines of collaboration are emerging; Command of the Civil Guard of Toledo – for its vocation of service and its dignified spirit, always willing to collaborate, with their families, in collection campaigns -; National Police Station of Toledo – for initiatives such as the pink room of the National Police School, promoted by “Abrazo azul”; Josefa Sánchez – thanks to whom the AECC can devote a grant to research; University Hospital of Toledo – for making progress with the Castilian-La Mancha society in raising public awareness of the importance of maintaining our health and its vocation for continuous improvement; the Hospital Nuestra Señora del Prado –for the facilities granted to volunteers so that they can carry out their mission with patients and their families-; Mabel Lozano, screenwriter and director of social cinema, with her short film “Lola, Lolita, Lolaza”.

After the testimonies of volunteers and patients, the Social Affairs Department of the Toledo City Hall, the Social Space of the Provincial Deputation and once again, the volunteers, the alma mater of this association, also received their gratitude.

The event ended on Mayor of Toledo, Carlos Velázquezbefore giving the stage to the Toledo group Candela y Son, which provided its music and good atmosphere, and is already preparing a solidarity concert with those affected by DANA on November 24 at the Colegio de Infantes.

In addition to the Toledo city councilor, the president of the Toledo Provincial Delegation, Conchi Cedillo, attended the event; the government delegate in Castile-La Mancha, Milagros Tolón; the Director General of the Ministry of Health of the Council, national senators and deputies, regional and provincial deputies, more than 20 mayors of the province and associations.
