“The UK stands ready to support countries on the frontline of the climate crisis today.”
According to “Report”, this was stated by the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Keir Starmer, during his speech at the COP29 Leaders Summit.
“At the end of September, Britain became the first G7 economy to move away from coal in line with agreements reached at COP28 in Dubai. We call on all parties to meet the ambitious targets,” he said.
K. Starmer stressed that the new Cabinet of Ministers will continue to fulfill the obligations assumed by the previous government, including climate financing. “Today we are launching a new mechanism on the London Stock Exchange that will help mobilize up to $75 billion of additional climate capital for countries over the coming decades,” the prime minister said.
According to the politician, the defense and well-being of Great Britain and the entire world is the government’s national priority and all necessary measures will be taken for its implementation.
