British Transport Minister Louise Haig has resigned following the revelation of a mobile phone scam.
Eleven years ago, a story happened to the future minister that she only told today:
“In 2013 I was attacked in London. For me, a 24-year-old woman, the experience was terrifying. Immediately after this, I reported the incident to the police. I provided the police with a list of my items that I believed had been stolen, including my work phone. Some time later I discovered that the mentioned phone was in my house. “I should have reported this to my employer immediately and it was wrong for me not to do so immediately.”
However, the court considered that in this way Louise Haig was trying to get a more modern work phone, which all her colleagues already had at that time (and this is what happened). Now the embarrassed British official was forced to resign.
