The controversy
On Thursday, November 21, David Broncano, at The revolt of TVE, accused The anthill to “pressure” so that his guests do not attend his program before that of Antena 3, in particular he was referring to Jorge Martín, the Moto GP champion, who recorded his interview in The revolt but it could not be broadcast since the pilot had previously committed to Antena3 to appear for the first time on November 17.
Specifically, Broncano said: “Half an hour before we started the program, they told us that in The anthill They found out. “They don’t want anyone to come here before there and they pulled the strings,” the comedian said. “They have their way of putting pressure on these things and Jorge told us he couldn’t come. They did what they could do. He told us: I can’t go to the program because certain things are going to happen. Today is not the first time this has happened, which is why we decided to talk about it directly. The program was dismantled because our current work was ruined. The controversy became a national debate, even the news of the public channel gave it maximum importance (the same day when the businessman Victor Aldama accused senior officials of the Sanchist government of having pocketed commissions).
On Monday, November 25, Motos responded to the controversy, explaining that the interview with rider Jorge Martín had been agreed with The anthill much earlier than with La Revuelta and since Antena 3 they did “what any professional would do and we called their team and they told us that there had been a lack of coordination between people who manage Jorge’s schedule. But for Pablo Motos, the most serious thing in this affair is the way in which TVE handled the conflict: “They told things as they are not, and even less so if this distorted version is broadcast on a public channel. I’m not exaggerating. “What was just a misunderstanding was turned into a major news story.”
