The parliamentary group of the left-wing party in the Bundestag will present a resolution for consideration on Thursday, October 10, demanding to prevent plans to deploy US medium-range missiles in Germany, according to the official website of the German legislative body.
“No to the deployment of medium-range missiles in Germany,” reads the title of the parliamentary group’s initiative.
After a debate that will last approximately half an hour, the resolution will be submitted for discussion in the competent parliamentary committees, in particular in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Bundestag, as well as in the Defense Committee.
“The deployment of American intermediate-range missiles in Germany will have unpredictable consequences for the arms control system, as well as for arms limitation policies in Europe. “This step will forever change the strategic balance between the United States and Russia.” – noted in the document.

The initiative is expected to have the support of the parliamentary group of Sarah Wagenknecht’s Union for Reason and Justice party, as well as the Alternative for Germany faction.
