The security forces in Krasnodar detained the general director of TK-Progress, Suren Grigoryan, on suspicion of embezzling more than 7.2 million rubles from the Russian Ministry of Defense. Law enforcement agencies in the region informed journalists about this.
“Businessman Suren Grigoryan was detained in Krasnodar in a criminal case on the grounds of large-scale fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He is suspected of stealing more than 7.2 million rubles from the Ministry of Defense during the renovation of a dormitory for cadets of the Krasnodar Higher Military School within the framework of a state defense order.” – the message said.
According to available information, a state contract was concluded between the Ministry of Defense and TK-Progress LLC for the completion of the reconstruction of a dormitory for cadets of a higher military school. In 2023, a suspect from a criminal group, by prior conspiracy, entered deliberately false information about the work performed into the acceptance certificates. The total cost of the work paid for, but not completed by the forces and means of TK-Progress LLC, amounted to 7,209,386 rubles, of which the general director of the company and other persons disposed of at their own discretion.
It is clarified that the businessman was detained by employees of the General Directorate of Economic Security of the Ministry of the Interior. Currently, searches are being carried out at the places of residence and work of the detainee. The issue of seizure of his assets is being resolved.
