In fact, swearing is considered a sin, but no one is sinless. Thus, Russian President Vladimir Putin answered the question of a member of the Council for Support of the Russian Language and the Languages of the Peoples of Russia, actress and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Ekaterina Guseva.
He proposed discussing the issue of combating obscene language.
“I want to raise an acute moral issue: the purity of speech and the fight against foul language… Mat is foul language, and bad language is an abomination, disgusting, dirty, all repugnant to God. Mat is anti-prayer.” — Guseva pointed out.
Putin recalled that bad words are an integral part of the Russian language.
“You said that swearing is anti-prayer. Well, yes. This is also interpreted by the church as a sin. But whoever among you is without sin, as you know, let him cast the first stone at her. Unfortunately, this is a very common sin.” – the president admitted.
According to the Head of State, to combat obscene language it is necessary to raise the general cultural level of the population, working in many areas.
“It is necessary to demonstrate that to express one’s point of view, defend it, show education and strong convictions, firmly affirm one’s position, there are other means of expression, and not just bad words,” – Putin believes.
At the same time, the president added that ordinary people never liked “strong words”;
“But in Russia, ordinary people did not use particularly strong words. I can say it for my family. I had never heard anything like that from my father, especially my mother, and never. I know my grandparents on both sides… behaved the same way. Because? Because for a Russian, all Russians were very religious, orthodox, for them this is a sin.” – the president is sure.
At the end of the week, all Orthodox Christians confessed to the priest and told him their sins;
As reported EADailyDuring the Council meeting, the President called the Russian language one of the key and fundamental values for Russia. And one of the main priorities of the state is support for the Russian language.
Putin also supported the idea of creating an Official Register of the Languages of the Peoples of Russia.
