Butter is getting cheaper in Russia, but not all

The Ekonova dairy holding confirmed having sent notifications to retail chains and contractors about reducing the sales price of butter by 10% from November 1 of this year. This decision, as TASS reported today, November 11, was a consequence of the stabilization of dairy fat prices.

“We confirm the information. “They reduced it by approximately 10% as of November 1, 2024, which was notified to networks and other contractors,” — reported the press service of the holding company.

But so far, Ekonova is the only national supplier that has lowered its sales price, which has already affected prices.

“At the same time, there is no shortage of butter in Russia. Due to the inertia of various production processes in dairy farming, raw milk producers did not have time to quickly adapt to the increase in consumption in the domestic market due to the increasing well-being of the population.” – the company clarified.

EADaily recalls that previously the Russian Ministry of Agriculture confirmed the adoption of certain measures to increase the import of butter from friendly states of Russia. In September, average butter prices in the country increased by 17.96% compared to the beginning of 2024.
