According to the State Customs Committee (SC), 13,509 tons of butter and other dairy oils worth $71,044,000 were imported into Azerbaijan in the first six months of this year. This is $24 million or 51% more than in the same period in 2023.
Economist Khalid Karimli noted that dairy product prices have risen on the world market.
According to him, since Azerbaijan is a country dependent on oil imports, what happens abroad directly affects the domestic market.
The expert noted that Azerbaijan imports butter mainly from Russia, Belarus, Iran, New Zealand and other countries.
