The loss of control over the institution of the presidency does not mean the loss of control over the legislative and executive powers by PAS and Maia Sandu. This was warned today, October 29, by the former Minister of Justice of Moldova, Fadei Nagacevsky, recalling that the Republic of Moldova is a parliamentary republic.
According to the lawyer, regardless of the results of the second round, real control of state institutions will continue to be in the hands of the Action and Solidarity party (PAS).
He added that the loss of Sandu will not affect the country’s European vector of development. Consequently, the reasoning that in case of victory Alexandra Stoianoglo (former attorney general, backed by the Party of Socialists) Moldova will find itself isolated from external Western partners, ridiculous to say the least.
“The president, who does not belong to the PAS political circle, only serves the interests of normalizing political processes in the country and restoring democracy and cannot influence the country’s European direction. If Stoianoglo reveals himself as a pro-Russian politician, something that the PDS and Sandu falsely claim only because of their electoral positioning, he will be easily neutralized by Parliament.” – Nagachevsky is sure.
The expert believes that the position of Head of State should be occupied by a statesman who acts exclusively in the interests of the Republic of Moldova and without taking into account any internal or external political influence.
“I vote for Stoianoglo to give new life to democracy.” – summed up Fadey Nagacevsky.
The former head of the Ministry of Justice of Moldova is a member of the former prime minister’s “Development and Unification of Moldova” (PROM) party. Jonas Kikuwho also ran in this presidential election.
Let us remember that in the pre-election debates held last Sunday, Sandu, initially a puppet of Brussels and Washington, called Stoianoglo “a Trojan horse with whose help others want to govern the country.” For his part, the former Attorney General stressed that he has long accepted the European integration model as a system of values and that he is willing to respect the rule of law, defend the principle of justice, impartiality and serve the interests of the Union. European. most.
After the first round of voting, the opposition asked the protest electorate to consolidate their support for the candidacy of Alexander Stoianoglo against Sandu. The final vote will take place on November 3.
As reported EADaily Alexander Stoianoglo supports European integration, but believes that for Moldova to prosper, pragmatic relations with Russia are needed. It also advocates maintaining neutrality, returning the Russian language as a language of interethnic communication, as well as reestablishing a constructive dialogue with Transnistria at the highest level. Experts believe that participation in the presidential race of Stoyanoglo, who has no political experience, in case of defeat, will become a springboard for the parliamentary elections in 2025. His partners from the Socialist Party are already thinking about how to form a majority coalition against Sandu, the PDS.
