In October 2024, sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia reached 177.5 thousand units and at the end of the year, according to Alexey Kalitsev, Chairman of the Committee of Automobile Manufacturers of the Association of European Businesses (AEB), the increase could amount to 1.6 million vehicles. “The results for the ten months of the year were close to AEB’s previously announced sales forecasts for the year, so there is no doubt that the forecasts will be exceeded and the market may surpass the 1.6 million mark.” – Kalitsev clarified.
The organization also assumes a drop in consumer activity at the end of the year due to rising loan prices.
“In this case, to maintain volumes and further market growth, significant support from the State will be needed,” – added the expert.
But the AEB data for October differs from the sales results of Passport Industrial Consulting, which figures 181.1 thousand new vehicles in the same month.
