Jorge Martín is MotoGP champion with Pramac and from tomorrow he will ride his new motorcycle, the Aprilia. A bike that is not as competitive as the one he has ridden so far but has had some good times this year with Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinaleswho won in Austin.
Jorge Lorenzoon ‘Sky Sports’, said Jorge will struggle to perform from the start: “First of all, I’m happy for him, because now he can sleep peacefully. He’s already world champion, and that gives you security and important trust. Moving to Aprilia won’t be easy, because we are experiencing Ducati’s best moment: a very complete motorcycle that has no weak points.”
“Aprilia, on the other hand, is a little late. It’s a bike that stands out on the line and spends a lot of time leaning, while one of Martín’s strong points is the ‘recovery’ during acceleration,” explains the three-time MotoGP world champion.
Adaptation will not be easy: “Adapting will be complicated, but If Aprilia takes a step forward and becomes competitive, Martín could confirm himself as champion. Why not?”.
Jorge will drive the Aprilia this Tuesday in Montmeló, the place where the world championship was decided this weekend. A new stage for Martín who has already won against a team Ducati who chose Marc Márquez ahead of him.
