This Plan, which is framed in the preliminary draft of Digital law in Andalusia (LADI), will create an inventory of public infrastructure for the connectivity of Andalusia, including local entities.

South Channel has a wide and active presence at this event, where Juanma Blanco Poley, director of Canal Sur Media, stood out alongside the head of strategic alliances of Google the outline of a pilot project aimed at subtitling the songs of the Cadiz Carnival using AI. Blanco Poley gave the presentation entitled “AI in the new interactive television”, accompanied by Manu Quero, Head of EMEA Strategic Partnerships at Google.

During his speech, the director of CanalSur Media presented some of the experiments based on artificial intelligence (AI) that CanalSur Radio and TV are already implementing. Furthermore, with Manu Quero, he broke down the joint project guidelines in which Google and CanalSur Radio and TV work. This project continues the synergy undertaken in 2023 between the two companies, with a pioneering collaboration whose objective is to use the AI for subtitling in real time and in several languages, the couplets of the group competition of the Carnival of Cádiz via the YouTube broadcast of CarnavalSur.

This initiative is presented as the first launched within the framework of the CanalSur Lab.

This innovative project aims to make this cultural event accessible to a global audience, breaking down language barriers and promoting the cultural richness of Andalusia. The collaboration between CanalSur Radio and TV and Google represents a significant step towards the integration of advanced technologies in the dissemination of cultural content, reaffirming the commitment of both entities to innovation and accessibility.

This initiative is the first launched within the framework of CanalSur Lab, a new department in the structure of the Directorate of Innovation, Business and Communication which includes the Strategic plan of the company and which aims to address new technological trends and how these can be put at the service of the multimedia of the first media in Andalusia.
