The organizers of the Car of the Year competition in Europe announced the list of finalists. The list consists of seven models selected from 42 candidates by a professional jury. The winner will be announced at the Brussels International Motor Show on January 10.

This year, mainly compact cars compete for the prestigious award: “Alfa Romeo Junior”, “Citroen C3”, “Cupra Terramar”, “Dacia Duster”, “Hyundai Inster”, “Kia EV3”, “Renault 5” and “Alpino A290”.
According to the conditions of the contest, the new model, which will reach the markets of at least five European countries at the end of the year, can be recognized as the car of the year. 60 automotive journalists representing 23 countries evaluate the candidates. Over the next two months they will test the new products to form a final opinion. Before the final, the seven models will come together for a joint test at a proving ground in Belgium.
It should be noted that in 2024 the award went to the Renault Scenic E-Tech compact electric crossover.
