Last Wednesday, Caritas Diocesana de Córdoba joined the emergency fundraising campaign launched by Caritas Española for the victims of DANA. The director of Caritas Diocesana de Córdoba, Darío Reina, indicated that “today we made a transfer to Cáritas de Valencia of almost 90,000 euros “This is the money raised during these first days of the campaign thanks to the solidarity of the inhabitants of Córdoba.”

The head of the diocesan NGO explained that they are prioritize financial donations because “sometimes material goods may not be adequate to the needs of the population and can complicate logistics in the affected areas”, he also insisted on the fact that “economic contributions are more effective, they allow purchases in businesses in the area and “they help activate the economy of the affected areas.
“We are experiencing a situation of extreme emergency in different regions of Spain and in particular in the Valencian community, with thousands of citizens affected by the terrible consequences of DANA”, continued Darío Reina, who stressed that “this campaign of funding aims to alleviate the needs of those affected and achieve where material donations do not arrive“.
Likewise, the head of the ecclesial entity indicated that material aid for basic necessities is very important at this time, “but we cannot forget that in the short term a lot will be needed. money for rent, furniture and personal effects to help all these people start a new life,” said the director of Caritas Córdoba.
