Carlos Sainz admits he had a bad time looking for a team in F1

Carlos Sainz has already found his destiny in Formula 1. He has signed for Williams after his adventure at Ferrari, where the team decided to settle Lewis Hamilton. And he admits that he did not have a good time in this first half of the year.

This is what he said in an interview with the ‘New York Times’: “What I have experienced this year It’s not ideal to perform at the highest level as an athlete.. “Any driver who wants to perform at the highest level wants his future resolved and not have to worry about it, whereas he has to perform in an F1 season.”

“I’m proud of how I handled the first half of the season given everything I’ve had to go through and the relative quality of the season. But I think it will be time for the athlete to come back when everything is a little calmer,” explains the one who will be his teammate Alex Albon to Williams.

His departure, he claims, is due to the opportunity Ferrari had with Hamilton and not to a performance problem on his part: “The fact that I am leaving at the end of the year makes me think that “There is really nothing wrong between me and Ferrari.”

“I probably have five to ten years left in my career. Why would you close the door to a possible return? “I’ve always said that once you’re a Ferrari driver, you’re always a Ferrari driver. Nobody can take that away from you. I’ve had the pleasure of doing it for the last four years and yes, I’m going to enjoy it as much as I can,” says Carlos, who by no means rules out a return to Maranello.

The Grand Circus returns this weekend to the Baku circuit, with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
