Carro/González and the Bello brothers crowned in Madrid

THE Iberdrola Beach Volleyball King and Queen Cup 2024 left a good taste in the mouths of the public and the players who frequented the facilities of beach volleyball at the Puerta de Hierro sports park. Sunday began with the women’s semi-finals, with the big favorites winning with authority in their respective events. First of all, Nazaret Florián and Marta Carro defeated Deborah Giaoui and Laura Moreno after a very competitive first set, while Belén Carro and Sofía González did the same with Elba Páez and Daniela Andreu.

The men’s semi-finals followed the same trend, with Antonio Saucedo and Álvaro Viera putting in a strong performance to beat Finn Pickert and Timothée Platreand the Bello brothers get their ticket to the final after a notable victory against Sviatoslav Karvatskyi and Raúl Mesa. The afternoon replay served to elucidate the two couples who won the bronze medal, Elba Páez and Daniela Andreu completing a strong comeback against Giaoui and Moreno and Karvatskyi and Mesa beating Pickert and Platre.
