From 52 212 units of June, sales of cars 0 km accumulated 326,039 patents, so that their best first semester in seven years was closed on the automobile market, according to data published on Monday of the Association of Concessionaires of the Argentine Republic (Akara).
The number exceeds January 249, January 24, June of 2019 cars, when the sector fell to 50% per year, and the government of Maurisio Macri launched the incentive for buying cars, trying to support this collapse. A year earlier (2018), 500,000 patents were exceeded in one semester, and the market that was aimed at recording (in the end it did not become for the collapse, which he recorded in the third quarter).
Now there are no official plans, except for a wider supply of terminals that no longer have restrictions on the completion of their ranges with imported products. This caused a greater variety and, therefore, competition. Another determining factor is financing: half of the new cars are sold with some type of loan, thanks to a line of up to 0 percent, which offer several brands and a decrease in bets that, according to the Hoviera Miley government, the Central Bank began.
It also influenced tax elimination, for example, a country and internal tribute, which were reflected in the prices of vehicles. In turn, several brands decided not to load – or do it as much as possible – in April, when the government went to the flitter regime of the exchange rate. In a stressful moment in which even the Minister of Economy Luis Caputo publicly provided the terminals that they tried to increase.
The patents for June amounted to 68.9% growth compared to the same month of 2024. Although they are 7.3% lower than in May, they also meant aminoing recovery: a year later, which began with an increase of more than 100% (January), May registered the lowest percentage of growth year after the year for the sale of new cars (61.9%).
In total, the domestic market gained an improvement in 77.8% compared to the first half of last year, according to the chamber of the official concession of terminals.
“We have completed the best first semester over the past seven years, and our sector today is one of the recovery engines,” said Sebastian Blasese, President Akara.
“The goal is to stay at these levels in the second half of the year and see if we can force 650,000 designed units in the apartment to start thinking about the growth of 2026,” he finished.
In the first six months of the year, national production cars amounted to 43% of sales. It is imported from Brazil, 48%. A year ago, made in the country accounted for 58%. Brazilians -absorb them, many of the records of the line sold in the region -33.
The Volkswagen brand registered 52,825 patents in the semester, quota 17.1%. The same participation is registered Toyota, with 52,677 units. The third place was taken by Fiat, with 42,707 (13.8% of the share). Fourth Renault, with 31 520 (10.2%). Fifth – Peugeot: 28 899 cars (9.4%).
According to the model, since January, Peugeot 208, with 18,548 patents, headed sales. Secondly, Fiat Cronos, also from Stellantis, from 18 516. Toyota Hilux (17 142 units) and Yaris (15 529), and Ford Ranger (13,797) complete the podium.
