Flores – This year, the District Prosecutor’s Office of Mangaray (Cage) recorded a surge in communication with minors who occurred in the East Mangarae Regency, East Nusa Tenggar (NTT). In total, 10 cases are currently considered by law enforcement officers.
The head of the prosecutor’s office of the Mangarai district through the head of the intelligence section, Wilibrodus Harun, said that things were at different stages of the legal process.
Of all the cases, five of them are still at the start of the investigation (SPDP), two cases at the stage of the file research, two cases entered the court, and one case was terminated by the court.
He said that cases of sexual violence against children are often found in its area and are often not reported, because it is considered a family shame. Therefore, thanks to the greeting of the Prosecutor’s program, his party provides a legal education to the community.
“We emphasize that such cases are not a shame, but a crime that should be treated according to the law,” said Inews.id, on Monday (06/30/2025).
Wilibrodus also invited all interested parties, including families, schools, community leaders and rural officials, to play an active role in the efforts to prevent violence against children.
“Prevention should be massively done. Protection of children is a common responsibility, ”he concluded.
