The breakdown makes it impossible to “properly open the water evacuation systems”
The Provincial Delegation of Castellón reported this Wednesday morning an incident that makes it impossible ““the correct opening of water evacuation systems” at the Cirat-Vallat dam, in the midst of the rising waters caused by the DANA which has devastated the Valencian Community and which has left 51 dead so far.
“The Provincial Council, through the firefighters, is in permanent contact with the Hydrographic Confederation of Júcar CHJ,” said this institution.
“Even if for the moment the situation is under control, all downstream municipalities have been notified so that they establish preventive measures to avoid access to the bed of the Mijares river”, warns the press release.
The Provincial Council advises all citizens to avoid approaching areas surrounding the bed of the aforementioned river.
Likewise, great caution is required in areas near river beds and ravines throughout the province and “under no circumstances should one cross a river bed with water”.
