Castilla y León criticizes Sánchez for talking about “more public transport and fewer Lamborghinis” but “wanting to close the stops”

The spokesman and advisor for Economy and Finance of the Council, the “popular” Carlos Fernández Carriedo, considers it “incoherent” that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, advocates “more public transport and fewer Lamborghinis” but intends to “close sections of public transport and bus stops in the region”.

“In Castilla y León, no Lamborghinis have been sold in 2023 and yet the government is talking about closing sections of public transport,” Carriedo joked at the press conference following the Government Council, in which he stressed that what the central Executive was doing was “propose how the region should be compensated for the closure of sections public transport”.

Carriedo thus criticized the proposal of the Central Executive to financially compensate the Authority for the closure of some of these sections of roads and public transport, which “is not the desirable option,” reports Ep.

“This idea of the government to say how much compensation should be paid for the closure of sections does not make sense because “We do not want any section to be closed in Castilla y León,” Carriedo explained, while recalling that the Council had criticized at the time that certain sections of roads were going to be closed.

In this regard, Carriedo assured that the government “denied that this was going to happen and now it seems that what it is doing is saying how much it must compensate the region for the closure of this project.” “We are opposed to the closure of sections and therefore we do not want to talk about the amount of our compensation for the closure of something,” he said.

“What are we talking about, improving public transport or closing it?”asked the spokesman for the Autonomous Administration, “because one day the government talks about how public transport should be improved and another day what it wants is to sit down and negotiate which section of public transport should be closed.”
