Castilla y León, first Community to approve a strategy to “attract, retain and generate” talent

The Governing Council of the Government of Castile and León approved this Thursday the first autonomous global strategy to “attract, retain and generate” talent in the Community, a document that extends until 2031 but includes a global action plan with 348 million euros. euros until 2027.

Specifically, as explained by the Council’s spokesman, Carlos Fernández Carriedo, the Strategy aims to create the appropriate conditions for “the generation, attraction and retention of talent”, through the improvement of the competitiveness of companies, and to promote professional and personal development for the creation of wealth. To achieve these objectives, the document includes thePossibility to incorporate memberships of private entities working on a common roadmap.

The first actions of the Plan include those that the Economy and Finance are already developing the “ICECYL Talent Scholarships” program, with the Call for 200 internship grants for postgraduate students in companies that aim to promote employment opportunities for specialized profiles, which means the loyalty of talents in the territory of Castilla y León, as well as the possibility of responding to the current demand for such profiles in the community.

This action is aimed at students enrolled in postgraduate university studies and provides for the completion of 200 non-professional academic internships lasting 900 hours and with a monthly salary of 1,080 euros (full-time).

For its part, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment, through the Foundation for the Anchoring of Companies and Training for Employment in Castilla y León (FAFECYL), has launched a call for grants to promote the formalization of training contracts to obtain professional practice in companies with work centers in the Community. For its part, the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities has launched an appeal to encourage the attraction of talent to Castile and León, by financing the expenses incurred by families that settle in rural areas of Castile and León. Are grants for families to move to rural areas from Castilla y León and registration there, coming from other autonomous communities and whose objective is to establish their residence in this environment, with the possible economic, social and quality of life advantages that this implies, as well as to develop a personal and family life in a rural area of ​​Castilla y León. The call has a budget of 2 million euros.

The Council highlights that Castilla y León is a pole of attraction for increasingly consolidated talents, it is a power in cybersecurity, reference in the aerospace, automotive, agri-food and biomedicine sectorsamong other areas; and stands out in third place in talent retention, fifth place in knowledge and seventh place in talent growth, which allows it to position itself globally in sixth place in Spain in the Talent Map prepared by the Cotec Foundation.
