CD Toledo got back on the path to victory after four days of fasting by winning this Sunday afternoon by 1-0 at CP Villarrobledo. The goal that decided the battle was scored by Manu Gavilán converts a penalty which the Oak team footballers complained a lot about. It was the 76th minute of the match and the nerves were already on edge in the stands of the “Salto del Caballo”. The visitors also strongly protested against the expulsion of their midfielder Dani Rivas on the hour mark. In short, a sweet and hard-fought victory for Toledo against an opponent without offensive power.
The first half was to be forgotten. Nothing at all in attack from the two teams, who showed a cataract of inaccuracies. The only notable thing was the muscle injury of the Canarian Pepe Delgado, one more and there are already several. After the restart, and after Villarrobledo found himself with ten players on the field, Toledo took the opportunity to go in search of a goal. In this way, a good cross from Angelito was headed by the Argentinian Juan Mazzocchi and the ball hit the crossbar. The offensive harassment of the greens continued and there was another good option for Álvaro, but Chato collected the ball on the line.
Shortly after, an innocent tackle by Carlos Martínez on Chupi led the referee to award a maximum penalty to the visitors. Manu Gavilán was unforgiving from 11 meters and made the score 1-0. Álvaro could have made it 2-0 in the 85th minute, but the foreign goalkeeper saved it. Meanwhile, Dani Simón scared the local parish to death on a clearance with a foot that tripped on the chest of Iván Garrido and it was not a miracle goal already in the long injury time.
