Chad McQueen, actor known for his role as Dutch in the first two films of the franchise Karate for children and son of actor Steve McQueen, died Wednesday at his ranch in California at the age of 63, according to his family.
It was the actor’s own children, born in Los Angeles in 1960, who confirmed his death through a photograph published on Instagram in which he appears as a child with his father Steve McQueen.
In the statements to New York TimesFamily friend and attorney Arthur Barens explained that he suffered organ failure that caused his death, confirming his death. Chad McQueen suffered a fall in 2020 from which he never fully recovered. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.
“His passion for racing not only highlighted his exceptional talent, but also served as a way to honor his father’s legacy, a testament to the values instilled in him,” said his wife, Jeanie Galbraith, and his two youngest children Chase and Madison. In the post, they emphasized that he was always a “loving father” and his commitment to his mother.
Chad McQueen went on to appear in over 25 films and television shows, both as an actor and in their production, although he will always be remembered for his role as the villain in the 1984 teen classic The Karate Kid.
