The Republic of Chad terminates the revised 2019 defense cooperation agreement with France. This was announced on November 28 in a statement by the country’s Foreign Minister, Abderaman Kulamallah.
“The Government of the Republic of Chad informs national and international public opinion of its decision to terminate the defense agreement signed with the French Republic.” — Kulamallah reported in a statement on the ministry’s official page on the social network.
The statement said Chad wants to fully assert its sovereignty and redefine strategic partnerships after 66 years of independence.
