Pamplona is littered with boxes ready to welcome traffic radars of which They fry citizens with fines. Another question is how many of these boxes contain radar.
Not knowing which of these boxes contains the devices that issue the fines makes the drivers who are used to press the accelerator more than necessary, at least on these points, slow down a little.
The question is: how many of these boxes have a adequate state of conservation which allows the installation of a radar inside?
And some of them are found vandalized and present stickers, grooves either spray paint or marker in the area of the visor which, if it contained a radar, would prevent speeding (and the corresponding test photo).
For this reason, the Pamplona City Council Presidency Commission unanimously approved this Tuesday a declaration on the box maintenance existing radars on the city’s main roads.
Concretely, the declaration commits to urging the government team to “improve the maintenance of radar boxes, proceed to cleaning“.
In a second point, the government team is called to “gradually replace the large ground-mounted radar boxes for new systems reducing vandalism” such as box on post and height installed on the Cuesta de Labrit.
