The arrest of Pavel Durov, founder of the Telegram messenger, suggests that there are political aspects to this case.
Oku.Az According to the Izvestia news agency, this was stated by the famous economist Pierre de Gaulle, grandson of the former French president, General Charles de Gaulle.
He recalled that a criminal case had already been opened against Pavel Durov in March this year for refusing to cooperate with French law enforcement agencies.
“He could not ignore it. That is why I was surprised that Durov arrived in France despite the fact that there was a warrant for his arrest,” Pierre de Gaulle said.
He also mentioned that the founder of Telegram had personally met French leader Emmanuel Macron, and that he received French citizenship in 2021 in a very fast process.
