On its side, the lighting between October 1st of this year and March 31st of next year, 2025RSV transmission season, will benefit from this protection in the maternity hospitals where they were born, both public and private, before leaving the hospital.
To strengthen dissemination, the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health will send text messages at the beginning of September to families of minors for whom vaccination is recommended, as reported by Europa Press.

Here is the list of nine public hospitals in the region where babies can be requested and vaccinated in this new campaign:

- Peace
- Iron Gate-Majadahonda
- Southeast, in Arganda del Rey
- Mostoles
- Infanta Cristina of Parla
- Henares Hospital, in Coslada
In addition, it will launch a campaign of informative material, in Spanish, French, English, Arabic and Chinese, which will be distributed in public hospitals and health centers.
Madrid, among the pioneers of this protection
The Community of Madrid was one of the first regions to incorporate this preventive measure, already in the 2023/2024 campaign, in which 44,116 doses and 87% coverage were achieved of the target population, the regional executive stressed in a press release.
“Vaccination has proven essential to achieve a very significant reduction in RSV disease in children under 6 months of age, both in primary care and hospital settings, where income has been reduced by up to 90%“, as detailed.
