China admits violating Japanese airspace: media

China acknowledged that its air force planes violated Japanese airspace in August this year and said it would take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, TASS reports citing the Kyodo agency.

As the Chinese side explained, the Chinese Air Force plane had no intention of entering Japanese airspace. The interruption was due to technical problems.

The explanation states that the plane’s crew was forced to briefly violate Japanese airspace because the plane encountered turbulence.

On August 26 of this year, Tokyo protested to Beijing over the violation of Japanese airspace by a Chinese Air Force plane in the Danjo Islands area (Nagasaki Prefecture). It was stated that Tokyo demands that China take measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

This is the first time such an incident has occurred between the two countries.
