On issues that affect the fundamental interests of the two countries, China and Peru increasingly support each other. This is stated in a written statement by Chinese President Xi Jinping, published by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, TASS reports.
“China and Peru are increasingly strengthening mutual political trust, understanding and supporting each other on issues that affect their core interests and major concerns.” – he stated in the appeal.
Xi Jinping recalled that Peru was one of the first Latin American states to recognize the new China, establishing diplomatic relations with it 53 years ago. The two countries, he said, have a long history of friendship that is “rooted in the hearts of the people.”
The Chinese leader highlighted that relations between Beijing and Lima are deepening in all directions. He highlighted that China is Peru’s largest trading partner and the main export market for its products for 10 years.
Xi Jinping added that the implementation of major joint projects in the mining industry and in the field of infrastructure construction “brings tangible benefits to the people of both countries.”
