Neighboring countries agreed to cooperate to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan. This was stated by China’s special representative for Afghanistan, Yue Xiaoyong, reports TOLOnews.
Yue Xiaoyong said that terrorism is a common problem for countries in the region and stressed that China will continue to support efforts to restore peace in Afghanistan.
“Terrorism is a major problem for all parties. “That is why China is actively involved in supporting all parties to restore peace in Afghanistan, attracting assistance from regional and international communities and cooperating with Afghanistan to achieve common goals, including fighting terrorism and ensuring security.” – said the special envoy of the People’s Republic of China.
Comparing the policies of the United States and China towards Afghanistan, Yue noted that China does not interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs. She also emphasized that women’s rights are important, but they are not the only or the main issue in this country.
“We must continue to focus on the rights of Afghan women, but we must also work with the global community to address Afghanistan’s most pressing challenges, such as poverty, hunger, refugees and the threat of terrorism.” Yue Xiaoyong said.
Commenting on these statements, the Deputy Press Secretary of the Islamic Emirate Hamdullah Fitrat reiterated the official position of the Taliban*:
“We believe that concerns about the presence of criminal groups in Afghanistan are unfounded. “Afghanistan is now safe and no foreign group can operate here or use Afghan territory to pose a threat to any country.”
