China simulated a US attack on Shanghai and calculated that it would be able to detect US F-22 and F-35 stealth aircraft from a distance. This is enough to call into question the accuracy of their attacks.
The radars are capable of detecting F-22 and F-35 stealth aircraft that are within striking distance. This was reported by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) in reference to the Joint Operations School of the National Defense University of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the State Key Laboratory of Mind Games in Beijing.
Specialists from these scientific institutions carried out computer simulations of the effectiveness of stealth fighters against Chinese air defense: they simulated an attack by the US Air Force on Shanghai from bases in Japan. It turned out that Chinese ground radars can detect stealth fighters at a distance of 180 kilometers.
This information is important for the Chinese military amid rising tensions around Taiwan and the South China Sea, SCMP notes.
