China expresses concern over the unstable situation in the Middle East and opposes the escalation of the conflict in the region. This is stated in a statement from the press service of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“China is deeply concerned about instability in the Middle East and opposes the violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, as well as the escalation of contradictions and the expansion of the conflict.” – indicated in the text.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry attributed the worsening situation in the Middle East to the failure to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
“All parties must achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible.” – the text also says.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry indicated that Beijing calls on the international community, “especially influential powers,” to play a constructive role to avoid a new round of instability.
