China has commented on a statement by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on plans to make changes to the nuclear strategy.
This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said a nuclear war cannot be won. Therefore, all parties should exercise restraint and reduce strategic risks.
“We saw this message (Ryabkova – ed.). China has repeatedly pointed out that nuclear weapons cannot be used to resolve a nuclear war, and nuclear weapons cannot be used to carry out military operations,” he said.
Mao Ning also recalled that in January 2022, the leaders of five nuclear states (the United States, China, Britain, France and Russia) made a general statement that a nuclear war cannot be won, so it cannot be allowed to start.
“Today, it is important for all parties to remain calm, exercise restraint and work together to jointly calm the situation, promote de-escalation and reduce strategic risks through dialogue and consultation,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added.
Recall that Kursor reported that Russia is strengthening its military presence near Israel’s borders. Syrian sources reported the construction of another Russian military observation post, located just 3 kilometers from the Bravo Line in the Golan Heights.
