Chinese banks refuse to carry out transactions not only when money is transferred from Russia, but even if there are Russian names on payment documents. Alexey Poroshin, general director of JSC “First Group”, spoke about this in an interview with the newspaper Izvestia.

Russian names (even those not subject to sanctions) in payment documents, any connection with the Russian Federation, and sometimes inscriptions in Cyrillic become grounds for canceling payment.
“If transactions are made through a Russian company, Chinese banks refuse payment for fear of being penalized. The money will remain in the account for the duration of the check, and according to regulations, the financial institution has the right to hold it for 40 days and then return it to the buyer.” — explained the general director of Atvira, an expert in foreign economic activity Ekaterina Kizevich.
According to the newspaper, a few weeks ago there was information that Chinese credit organizations began delaying payments received from Russian beneficiaries.
