The Chinese military has launched an intercontinental ballistic missile, TASS reports, citing the Chinese Ministry of Defense.
“The launch is carried out in accordance with international law and international practice, it is not directed against any specific country or object,” – the department said in a statement.
The launch took place as part of a PLA missile exercise at 08:44 Beijing time (03:44 Moscow time). Its purpose is to test the weapons and training level of the troops.
Countries in the region were notified of this in advance.
A missile with a dummy warhead fell into the designated area of the Pacific Ocean.
