For 9 months of 2024, China maintained the volume of oil purchases from Russia at the level of 2023. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Main Customs Administration (GCU) of the People’s Republic of China.
According to data from the department, imports of this energy source from Russia amounted to 80.6 million tons, which represents a year-on-year increase of 0.8%.
In terms of value, the indicator increased by 7.8%, reaching 47.5 billion dollars. Russia ranks first among countries supplying oil to China.
It is followed by Saudi Arabia, which in nine months reduced its supplies compared to the same period in 2023 by 10.7%, to 59.5 million tons. In third place is Iraq (48.1 million tons, an increase of 6%).
In September, Russian oil supplies to China decreased by about 7.6% compared to August, to 8.6 million tons. In value they decreased by 13.8%, to 4.6 billion dollars.
