Christian Horner responds to McLaren’s suspicions about Red Bull: "It all started in Miami, and Newey…"

Red Bull is crossing the biggest crisis in years in F1. The one we haven’t seen for a long, long time. Yes, they are leaders in the World Cup. And yes, they are first in both the drivers’ and constructors’ standings. But no. Something is wrong. Something is wrong in a car that has taken not one but maybe five steps backwards and in Italy was not competitive at all.

That he couldn’t. That he wasn’t there to fight, or win, or get on the podium. Not even a Max Verstappen who is getting closer and closer to a Lando Norris who has the best car of the moment: the McLaren.

Of course, There are those like Zak BrownOrange bosses suggest that Red Bull’s decline is due to Newey’s departure. Because without it, they don’t know how to improve a car that jolts on the asphalt.

That they can’t positively update a car that even Verstappen can’t drive. Meanwhile, McLaren is just Eight points for Red Bull in the World Cup.

Red Bull boss Horner was quick to respond to Brown, in comments recorded in ‘I am Motor’: “We would have had the same problems.”

“They already existed beforeand for a person to do something, it cannot have such rapid consequences,” he insists.

And he directly mentions Newey: “It all started in Miamiand he was there on Friday. There’s no way it could have hit that fast.”
