Christian lawyers call for investigation into sexual abuse by politicians

The spokesperson for Christian Lawyers, Apolonia Castellanosregistered this Wednesday a request with the Ombudsman to investigate and prepare a report on all sexual abuse committed by politicians protected by their own parties. “We saw that the Ombudsman made a report on sexual abuse in the Church, which represents a minimal share, barely reaching 1%. And what we realized is that this reporting on the abuses of the Church was done only to distract from the cases that are happening in politics and which are much more numerous,” he said .

Castellanos demanded that “everything that happens within the framework of political parties» and “the attackers we pay with our money”. He also asked that “our children” not be educated in these political parties.

“What we are going to ask for is that the report is prepared first by the Ombudsman. And the second thing is that it doesn’t happen the education of our childrenthat the fundamental right available to us, parents, as contained in the Constitution in article 27.3, be respected,” said the spokesperson for Christian Lawyers.

He also warned that if the Ombudsman had done the same with the Church, he would have to open an investigation into the political parties because otherwise, as he explained, there would be a case of discrimination and “this could be a case of prevarication“.

“If the Ombudsman does something, we will be satisfied. If the Mediator does nothing, we will understand that the only thing that was done with the report that was made against the Sexual Abuse in the Church “This was an attack on the Church and there would indeed be a case of discrimination and it could be a case of prevarication on the part of the ombudsman,” he said.
